Volunteer Opportunities

Become a Mentor

Come and make a difference in a kid's life by giving back your time to the community. Assist with homework, do a craft project, visit a museum, tour a college campus, or help a kid build a healthy relationship by being a positive influence.

Community Volunteer

Community volunteers are contributors who help CFP to carry out social welfare, community building, and outreach operations sponsored by either CFP or CFP partner organizations, including state and local government.

Internal CFP Operations

Volunteers who would like to support CFP by assisting with day to day operations are welcome. Past volunteers have supported communications campaigns, grant writing, and community outreach.

CFP Programs and Services

Evening Reporting Center (ERC)

Youth who are awaiting trial while on home confinement is referred from Cook County Juvenile Court to report five days a week from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM for structured activities inclusive of educational and life skill curriculums, homework based tutorials as well as cultural and recreational activities. Advocates pick up participants daily and bring them to the ERC and take participants home at the end of the evening.

Partnership for a Safer Chicago

CFP has partnered with UCAN to offer a safe space for youth and families living in neighborhoods affected by violence. Partnership for a safer Chicago promotes peace, builds trust and strengthens relationships among neighborhood residents by offering positive programming for youth and families. The initiative is a "proactive response" to violence in the city, with a focus on street intervention.
